Redefining My Dream Life: The Freedom to Work & Live on My Terms

The Limiting Beliefs

For years, I told myself I didn’t like working from home—that I wasn’t productive in that environment. That I was too distracted at home and I wasn’t able to accomplish much.

And honestly? I believed it.

It wasn’t until recently that I realized… I had formed that belief during a difficult season of my life, and instead of questioning it, I accepted it as truth.

But after one single work-from-home day that actually felt aligned with how I want to live, I had a realization that changed everything.

How My Work-From-Home Mindset Got Twisted

During COVID, working from home felt like the perfect balance. I had time for work, Devyn, and small tasks like laundry or prepping dinner. Things were great, perfect harmony. (Well, except the world outside my house being in complete chaos).

A few years later, I had a job that allowed me to work from home 2-3 days a week, but instead of balance, I felt distracted and unmotivated. It was a difficult time in my life, and working from home felt isolating rather than freeing.

Instead of recognizing the season I was in, I decided:

🚫 I don’t like working from home.

🚫 I’m not productive unless I go into an office.

🚫 I can’t trust myself to stay focused.

And so, I put my dream of time and location freedom on hold… because I didn’t think I could handle it.

The Breakthrough: A Day That Changed Everything

Fast forward to today. Devyn and I both had doctor’s appointments, so I worked from home.

  • We had a slow morning, waking up and getting ready on our own terms.

  • I logged on and worked before heading out.

  • After our appointments, we stopped at a cute café for a treat.

  • Came back home, worked some more, and then…

  • Parent-teacher conferences, followed by dinner out together.

  • Finished the night by wrapping up work at home.

This was the life I had always envisioned—one where I’m living my life and filling in the gaps with work… not working a corporate job that forces me to fit life around it.

I felt calm, in control, and free.

The Truth About Time & Location Freedom

I had been telling myself for years that I wasn’t good at working from home. That I needed structure, an office, and external accountability. But the truth?

✨ I thrive when I have the freedom to work on my terms.

✨ I can be productive and still prioritize my life.

✨ My dream life isn’t about escaping work—it’s about work fitting into MY life, not the other way around.

And that’s exactly what I’m building.

Designing a Life Where I’m Living—Not Just Working

This realization is so freeing, and it’s making me even more intentional about my future.

🎯 I want to build a business that allows me to have the flexibility I desire.

🎯 I want to create income streams that support my lifestyle, not dictate it.

🎯 I want to help others break free from limiting beliefs and design their own version of success.

If you’ve ever doubted yourself or felt trapped by a belief about what you can or can’t handle, I encourage you to take a step back and ask:

👉 Is this really true?

👉 Or is it something I just accepted as truth because of a difficult season?

Your dream life is waiting for you to claim it.
