đ From Page-Turner to Pop-Up
A lot has been happening behind the scenes lately. If youâve been following me for a while, you know this about me: Iâm a passionate idealist. When something lights me up, I dive in headfirstâheart, soul, energy, everything. And then, like clockwork, my intuition gently nudges me toward the next evolution. I donât force it. I follow the flow.
But one thing that has never changed?
My deep, lifelong love for books. đâ¨
It All Started with Dr. Kay ScarpettaâŚ
My first true reading obsession? Patricia Cornwellâs forensic thriller series featuring Dr. Kay Scarpetta. I devoured those books in middle schoolâgripping crime scenes, sharp intellect, and strong women in STEM? Say less.
My grandma was also an avid reader and read Cornwellâs novels too, along with my dad. It felt like a secret club we were all part ofâconnected through fiction. And for a while, I even wanted to become a forensic pathologist (until I realized it meant more school and a lower paycheck than a general physician đ ). So⌠I pivoted. But the love for storytelling? That stuck.
đĄ Introducing: The Lit Lounge â A Romance-Fueled Pop-Up Bookshop
Iâve always dreamed of opening a bookshopâspecifically, a cozy, inviting space filled with spicy romance, thought-provoking self-help, and empowering personal development reads. A place where readers and creatives could talk about fictional crushes or healing journeys, and just be. đđ
And while the dream of a brick-and-mortar shop is still on my vision board, Iâve realized that I donât have to wait for âsomeday.â I can start now. Enter: The Lit Lounge, my pop-up/mobile bookshop concept thatâs officially in the works. đď¸đ
This shop will be:
𼾠A curated collection of the spiciest romance novels (yes, weâre talking 4+ chili pepper levels)
đď¸ A vibe: bookish merch, dark feminine aesthetics, and community energy
đ Starting Small Doesnât Mean Thinking Small
Itâs easy to get overwhelmed when your dreams feel too big to start. Iâve been there. But recently, Iâve embraced the reminder that all I need to do is take the first step. I donât need to open a full bookstore overnight. I can start with one carefully curated pop-up.
Iâm building this intentionally:
Choosing books I love and would personally recommend
Selecting markets and vendor events that align with my schedule and energy
Being intentional with collaborationsâcoffee shops, boutiques, and creative spaces that match the Lit Lounge vibe
This is freedom. This is alignment. This is the life Iâve envisioned for myself for yearsâfreedom from corporate structure, ease in my creative flow, and connection with a community of passionate readers. đđŤ
